SpaceX Introduced Its Affordable Starlink Mini Dish!
SpaceX introduced its new Starlink Mini dish in MacBook sizes. According to CEO Elon Musk, this technology will change the world.
About 2 weeks ago, Starlink enabled a seamless video call between two standard smartphones without the need for traditional cellular infrastructure with the Direct Cellular Connection (direct-to-cell) features of its satellite internet service. Now, SpaceX has announced Starlink’s new affordable internet dish.
Starlink’s Mini dish is coming
Last week, the company rolled out an update to its Starlink app that included a page for the upcoming product. The images shared by user X (Twitter) below show that the new mini dish is smaller than the standard V4 dish. According to the updates, it is confirmed that the new Starlink Mini dish is a smaller and portable version.
Both devices have a Kick stand. However, according to FCC documents, the Starlink Mini dish will be approximately the size of a Macbook. Elon Musk states in a post he shared on X that the installation takes 5 minutes and that this product will change the world.
Leaks indicate that users can buy the Starlink Mini dish for approximately half the price of the normal dish, that is, around 250-300 dollars. The regular dish is currently sold in the US on Starlink’s website for $499.
In terms of performance, the new dish offers 100 MBPS download and 11.5 MBPS upload speeds while maintaining a minimum ping time of 23 milliseconds. In other words, the new dish will offer lower speeds than the normal dish. But there is no need to fear, these speeds will be sufficient even for 4k videos.
